When people submit text for translation into Tibetan via this site, they often reference other Websites, and thus I have been able to form a general impression of the state of affairs. There is much material that is faulty, and the situation is particularly grave in the area of Tibetan dog names. There are several sites that are promoting a random selection of Sanskrit/Hindi words as Tibetan names for Tibetan dogs! And there are a few others that feature a perplexing mishmash of Tibetan names that are so inconsistently and ineptly transliterated into Latin script as to be virtually useless, if not harmful, to the average user.
